EU law

The Austrian telecommunications law is strongly characterised by Community law requirements. In particular, on the basis of the provisions on competition of the EC Treaty (Article 81 [formerly Article 85], Article 82 [formerly Article 86] and Article 86 [formerly Article 90]), the EU Commission or the European Parliament and the Council have issued a great number of directives, regulations and decisions that contribute to implementing the Common Market for telecommunications services.
