The Federal Minister of Transport, Innovation and Technology is responsible for defining framework conditions for the telecommunications market.

European and international requirements have an increasing impact on the conditions in the telecommunications sector, resulting in ever closer convergence of telecommunications regulation at the national and European levels. Cooperation with the European Commission and the regulatory authorities at an international level is therefore a prerequisite for efficient telecommunications policy.
