Answer: | For the signature per se, you only require suitable software, which is already integrated for instance in many mail clients. S/MIME has come to be recognised as the most important standard for electronically signed e-mails. OpenPGP is another de facto web standard. You need a certificate, which is your ‘online ID document’, to allow a recipient who does not know you personally to verify your signature. To get a certificate, refer to a trust service provider.
