2600 MHz unpaired Spectrum
The 2,6 GHz TDD-band (band 38 in LTE, band n38 in NR) has a bandwith of 50 MHz and consists of 10 unpaired frequency packages The spectrum of this band overlaps with the wider band 41/n41.
Allocation procedure
On Oct. 18, 2010 the allocation procedure for this frequency band was completed.
The following figure shows the current allocation for this frequency band:
EU-Decision on 2,6 GHz
The frequency-related technical conditions for the use of the 2.5-2.69 GHz frequency band have been defined in a Decision of the European Commission on June 13th, 2008. The Commission decision is based on "block edge masks", that is, masks for maximum e.i.r.p. within and outside of an assigned block are defined for a base station. The specific limits can be found in the annex to the Commission's decision.
Procedures and consultations
The following procedures and consultations regarding this frequency range have been carried out:
- August 29, 2007: Consultation on the allocation of frequencies in the frequency ranges 2010-2020 MHz and 2500 - 2690 MHz and the future use of the 900/1800 MHz frequency bands
- January 30, 2009: Consultation on the allocation of frequencies in the 2500 – 2690 MHz band (2009)
- October 18, 2010: Frequency allocation procedure, allocation to A1 Telekom, T-Mobile, Orange and Hutchison 3G (F4/08-76).
