What is the difference between a certified measurement for wired Internet access services and a certified measurement for so-called “mobile Internet solutions for at home”?
In case of wired Internet access services from Austrian operators the findings serve as basis for a so-called prima facie proof of certain warranty aspects. With such prima facie evidence, the legal position in case of a dispute improves considerably. The certified measurement can also be used in case of a so-called “mobile Internet solution for at home” (e.g. Internet via router or "cubes" with a SIM card) to determine the actual speed of the Internet access. In such a case, the results of the certified measurement are not prima facie evidence. This means that the proven value of the certified measurement for a fixed Internet access is higher than for a “mobile Internet solution for at home”.
