Telekom-Control Commission announcement: All six applicants admitted to UMTS auction

In its session on September 25, 2000, the Telekom-Control Commission decided after its review of the applications that all six applicants (Mobilkom Austria AG, Mannesmann 3G Mobilfunk GmbH, Connect Austria Gesellschaft für Telekommunikation GmbH, Hutchison 3G Austria GmbH, max.mobil. Telekommunikation Service GmbH, 3G Mobile Telecommunications GmbH) will be admitted to the auction procedure.

Because the applicants are not affiliated with one another, which ensures the necessary independence of the enterprises from each other, there will be no need to hold a preliminary auction to eliminate affiliated companies. Therefore, the November 2nd start date for the auction is confirmed.

The auction will be held Mondays through Saturdays from 9:00 to 6:00pm each day at a central location in the greater Vienna area, and the interested public will be able to track the results of each round live over the Web (http://www.tkc.at/imt-2000).
