Telekom-Control Commission announces 6 applicants for UMTS auction in November

The Telekom-Control Commission is pleased to announce that six telecommunications enterprises submitted their application documents for participation in Austria's UMTS frequency package allocation procedure before the application deadline (September 13, 2000 at 2:00pm).

The companies participating are as follows (in alphabetical order):

• Connect Austria Gesellschaft für Telekommunikation GmbH
• Hutchison 3G Austria GmbH
• Mannesmann 3G Mobilfunk GmbH
• max.mobil Telekommunikation Service GmbH
• Mobilkom Austria Aktiengesellschaft
• 3G Mobile Telecommunications GmbH (Telefonica)

The number of frequency packages applied for in the first stage of the procedure exceeds the number of frequency packages available (12).
