With the votes of all 28 member states, Mr. Johannes Gungl, CEO of RTR’s Telecommunications and Postal Services Division, was appointed as Vice Chairman for the years 2017 and 2019 and as Chairman for 2018. "I am very grateful for the confidence that my colleagues in the European regulatory authorities place in me for the period of 2017 to 2019", Mr. Gungl states. "It is a special honour for the Austrian regulatory institutions RTR and TKK that Austria is to take the BEREC Chair for the second time already", Mr. Gungl adds. Objective: represent Austria’s interests in the reform of the regulatory framework "The years 2017 and 2018 will be pivotal for the drafting of the new regulatory framework for telecommunications.
