Telekom Control Commission awards 900 MHz frequencies to Orange for EUR 501,500.00 Press release dated 1 October 2008 On September 29, 2008, the Telekom-Control Commission (TKK) completed the allocation procedure for frequencies in the 900 MHz range. In this procedure, one nationwide frequency packet comprising 2 x 0.8 MHz in the 914 – 915 MHz and 959 – 960 MHz ranges was allocated. The following companies participated in the frequency auction: Barablu Mobile Austria Limited, Orange Austria Telecommunication GmbH (formerly One GmbH) and T-Mobile Austria GmbH. The frequencies were awarded to Orange, which submitted the highest bid in the auction procedure (EUR 501,500.00). The proceeds from the auction will go to the Republic of Austria. The frequencies are designated for the operation and provision of public communications networks and services in the GSM bands. The frequencies have been allocated for a limited period ending on December 31, 2017.
